Waking up with swollen legs can be due to many causes, such as excess salt in the diet, obesity, arthritis, infection, venous insufficiency, lymphedema, alcoholism, blood clots, preeclampsia, and others.

  • Avoid wearing tight bed clothing or socks 
  • Wear support stockings
