What’s New? Exciting MATHia Enhancements

New and Enhanced MATHia Content

We're excited to bring you significant enhancements to our content, including:

• 132 new workspaces!
• Updated workspaces including data-driven improvements
• New sequences published for this school year
  • To address unfinished learning:
    • New Readiness Modules
    • New Core Sequences with Readiness embedded
• We have reorganized MATHia content to make the connections to the textbook even clearer, including: 
  • renaming the units of workspaces using the subtitle of the corresponding lesson in the textbook
  • Getting Started and Pre-Launch Protocol workspaces will no longer display a module number in Reports (Module 1 will start with number 1 and so on)

Updates to the APLSE Score Calculation

Our APLSE report accurately predicts student performance on end-of-year exams. Students who earn over 70% APLSE are 90% likely to pass, and we are always looking for ways to get this number closer to 100%. Based on your feedback, our Research team made the following improvements to the APLSE score calculation:

• In Mastery Workspaces, skill mastery will more heavily weight mastering all of the skills in the workspace.
• A student’s APLSE score will only count errors, not hints used.
• In Concept Builder Workspaces, we emphasize appropriate hint use by rewarding students whose use of hints rises only when they make errors and need the hints.
