Carnegie Learning Goes to Beijing

Our top scientists and learning research were featured prominently at the AIAED Conference.

Dr. Steve Ritter, our Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, and Dr. Stephen Fancsali, Research Scientist, both recently attended the Artificial Intelligence + Adaptive Education (AIAED) Conference in Beijing, China. Our research and research-based approach to instruction were both featured heavily at the conference.

Tom Mitchell, interim dean of the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science, E. Fredkin University Professor, and pioneer in machine learning, was the first keynote speaker. He talked about the potential of machine learning to help rapidly improve the effectiveness of instruction, using Carnegie Learning's efforts in this area as an example.

Ken Koedinger, one of our founders, was also a keynote speaker at the conference, where he detailed how MATHia's instructional design and grounding in learning science has led to strong student learning results in controlled trials.

We're proud of our origins in learning science research, and of our talented Research Team that works tirelessly to understand more about how people learn and how learning is best facilitated. Their findings drive the decisions we make about our materials, so that we can ensure they are the most effective in the classroom.

We're also glad to be a part of the educational research community, and to continue to infuse Carnegie Learning products and services with what we learn!
