There are educators all over the country bringing the LONG + LIVE + MATH Movement to life in their worlds. We'd like to introduce you to some of them.
The LONG + LIVE + MATH spirit is spreading like wildfire! The full staff at the Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, Massachusetts came together to take the LONG + LIVE + MATH Pledge and commit to deeper math learning for their students. They even recorded this video.
Cindy Wing, Director of Education at Perkins School, says:
"Many of our students have gaps in math and experience math anxiety. Our data shows that math is the most difficult class for our students. When we heard about the LONG + LIVE + MATH Movement, we were excited to join. The Movement is energizing all of our staff—Teachers, Assistant Teachers, Specialists, Clinicians, Student Service staff, Administrators, and therapy dogs—to look at simple ways to support student success in math.
We are looking forward to having a launch event for students to demonstrate the commitment and dedication we have to their mathematical success. Carnegie Learning has allowed us to show our students they are important and are part of a larger community of math learners."
We are so proud of your commitment to student learning. Thank you for sharing it with us!
