What’s New? Our High School Math Solution

We have so many exciting updates coming for you in the fall! Here are some of the highlights.

We've got a brand new High School Math Solution!

New High School Math Solution

Our new materials are intentionally designed to support 180 days of instruction, blending opportunities for:

  • Learning Together with the consumable textbooks
  • Learning Individually with MATHia software or Skills Practice books

Learning Together with the Consumable Textbook

Streamlined and Easier to Use

Our student edition is now one volume with assignment and practice pages built into every lesson. We incorporated feedback from teachers across the country to make our textbook more user-friendly by providing detailed facilitation notes, differentiation strategies, and ELL tips right into the lessons as well. All below grade level content has been removed and will be available via the Carnegie Learning Resource Center, making the textbook smaller and more manageable for students and teachers. We've also reorganized the mathematical content to better align with standard and assessment documents.

Improved Support for ELL Students

Spanish versions of the Student Editions will be available on the Resource Center and both MATHia animations and Unit Overview videos will feature Spanish closed captioning.

Even More Teacher Support

Teacher materials are now more streamlined and offer additional support. Each lesson is marked with the number of instructional days (1 day = 45 minutes) for implementation to help with planning and pacing. The textbook is divided into modules, each containing an overview:

  • Why is this Module named … ?
  • What is the mathematics of … ?
  • How is this module connected to prior learning?
  • When will students use knowledge from this module in future learning?

Each mathematical topic also has its own overview:

  • How is this topic organized?
  • What is the entry point for students?
  • How does a student demonstrate understanding?
  • What is this topic important?
  • How do the activities support the SMPs?
  • Materials list

The Teachers Implementation Guide includes suggestions for grouping students and other great resources to support collaborative learning.

Don't Forget Parents!

A one-page topic summary will be included in the Student Edition for parents, making the school-to-home connection even stronger and empowering them to support their child's learning. The summaries will cover:

  • What are they learning?
  • How are they learning?
  • Why is this important?
  • What representations will my students be using?
  • How can I help?
  • How does this apply to STEM careers?

That's not all! Click here for the full list of improvements we've made to the high school textbooks.
