Meet Your Master Math Practitioner: Sami Briceño

Our Master Math Practitioners are out working with teachers to transform classrooms all over the country, day in and day out. We're super proud of them, and want to help you get to know them a little better!

Hometown: Austin, Texas

Experience: "I taught Middle School and High School Mathematics, served as a Math Department Chair, Math Instructional Coach, District Secondary Math Specialist, and Senior Program Coordinator at the Charles A. Dana Center, University of Texas at Austin, and can be found presenting at math conferences regionally and nationally."

Why Carnegie Learning? "I witnessed first-hand the success my students had with the Carnegie Learning resources. My students didn't always come to me with the best foundation or motivation to learn math, but something in them changed after utilizing these resources. I knew I had to be a part of this movement, and once I met the kind of people who worked at Carnegie Learning, I knew I wouldn't go anywhere else. We are passionate about math teaching and learning and we will strive to ignite that passion in leaders, teachers, students and parents."

Fun Fact: "I used to be a traveling cheer camp instructor! This gave me my love for teaching and traveling, which I do now in this job. Back in the day I could tumble and had amazing cheer jumps. Nowadays, I accidentally tumble if I even attempt a cheer jump."
